Healthcare Simulation Facilitator Training

Most simulation faculty members have limited formal simulation facilitator training (Waznonis, 2014). Debriefer guidance is the most important process of simulation-based learning (Decker et al., 2013; Dreifuerst & Decker, 2012). This session will provide faculty training on debriefing via the Debriefing Assessment for Simulation in Healthcare (DASH). A simulation template will be shared with the faculty to develop their own simulation scenario/activity.



Microsoft’s OneDrive has become the hub of all that I do in the classroom. PowerPoints, Word, Excel, and URL’s documents can be created by teachers and students even from phones. Its superiority to BlackBoard and D2L, stems from its visual interface, accessibility, and usability. Give them slides that differ from the ones others use. You will consider how to pull the audience in more and zone them out less with fewer words and lists, more space and simplicity. The Law of Intentionality is the 1st of 15 chapters/laws covered in John Maxwell’s book, The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth. The core idea of this chapter/session is that each person must have a plan to grow because growth does not just happen. However, when you become intentional about growth, you will encounter obstacles called growth gap traps. You must understand and have a plan to overcome them. This session will teach you how to do just that!



Urban Line Dancing for Fun & Fitness

So, what is urban line dancing? As the name implies, participants form multiple lines and learn dance steps that are easy, intermediate, or dance steps that are advanced. Studies have shown that line dancing causes movement of the entire body, it elevates the heart rate and burns calories, and it stimulates the brain by learning and recalling a defined pattern of movements. Urban line dancing can be enjoyed by anyone no matter their age or level of physical fitness.



Using Behavior Modification to Enhance Learning

We will discuss and then demonstrate BF Skinner’s Operant Conditioning in application to the classroom environment. Participants will see how the use of basic concepts like positive and negative reinforcement, and positive and negative punishment, can transform their classes. Furthermore, participants will see how easy it is to employ these concepts in a way that will give them more control in class and make the learning environment more pleasant and effective.
