Blackboard Ally is a UDL tool that allows students and faculty to convert digital printed material into multiple formats, including mp3 and readable pdf’s. Participants will work hands on with the tool, convert files, and learn how Ally can assist with increasing course accessibility while also improving student success for all. The presenter will also share how Institutional Accessibility and other college resources can assist with improving course accessibility.

CLOSED – The session will focus on how to overcome self-imposed barriers to success using visualization and break-through techniques. Participants will identify their own barriers and harness their personal power to achieve what appears impossible – literally break through a board with their bare hand. Practical examples and thought-provoking insight will leave participants inspired to face their self-limiting beliefs head on to achieve new levels of success in their professional and personal lives. (Board breaking is voluntary)

The Broward UP Promise Neighborhoods grant allows Broward College and its community partners to realize a true two-generational model by addressing residents’ needs from “cradle to career” through a continuum of services from early childhood through job placement.

This session provides an overview of the services available, current community data and trends, and how staff and students can engage in systemic change within the neighborhoods.

This water applied in excess presents an opportunity for conservation, and the Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ (FLL) program is ready to help. In this session, you will learn the 9 FFL principles and what you can do to begin your journey to become a recognized FFL Residential Landscape. This workshop is delivered through the UF/IFAS Extension, Broward County.

CLOSED – As the technology in our classrooms are changing, Campus Technology would like to take this opportunity to interact and demonstrate the technology that Faculty and Adjuncts have available. During these sessions users will learn how to use the hardware in the classroom (monitors, display settings).
Users will also be introduced to Lanschool and the many different features that it offers.

CLOSED – Creating and managing a podcast can be an exciting experience. However, new podcasters sometimes do not know where to start or what tools to use. Join us as we explore the world of podcasting. You will walk away with tips and suggestions for creating your first podcast.

Most use of podcasts in an academic setting focuses on the dissemination of lecture/learning materials from instructor to student. In this course you will learn to let students take the lead and create their own podcasts. Student created podcasts are a great tool for building communities of learning in the classroom as well for getting students researching and communicating about pertinent topics in your course.

Through a presentation and active discussion, participants will have an opportunity to learn about the guidelines the Dual Enrollment program follows and see how faculty and staff are essential to student success. All are welcome to attend this session including any Broward College parents who would like to learn about the DE program and the benefits for their child.
