A Nursing Journey: Technology to Realism Anissa Harris Smith, Jennifer Kantis This workshop introduces the combination of virtual reality (VR) and high-fidelity simulation (HFS) to engage and achieve student learning.  Nursing education integrates cognitive, psychomotor, and affective learning skills to deliver patient care.  Simulation-based learning scenarios provide a safe environment for students to gain the realism of the hospital environment.
Advising Syllabus: Teaching Learning Empowering Ashley Williams, Simone Campbell, Andre Stroman, Tameara Guess Aligned with BC’s mission to educate and empower students to reach their academic and career aspirations, this presentation will delve into the significance of the advising syllabus. Discussions will center on how the syllabus can be used as a tool for staff and students to build relationships and to help students stay on track toward graduation. The advising syllabus can be transferable to any staff and student interaction.

Being a Better Person Felicidad Archila Each of us since the day we are born carries the seeds of joy, fulfillment and kindness.  A fundamental part of a successful life involves bringing those seeds to fruition.  This one-hour session is a sampling of the Peace Education Program offered in 80 countries and 40 languages around the world, focused on developing more fully these inner resources.  The session will involve some self-awareness exercises, a video presentation from Prem Rawat (www.premrawat.com, the creator of the Peace Education Program, www.tprf.org), and personal reflection.  From this session, one will learn about listening more closely to oneself, identifying one’s own internal resources, and developing a deeper sense of personal freedom and possibility.
Best Practices in Flex Learning Robert Gallagher This course is designed for faculty interested in teaching in the Flexible Learning Modality. In this session, we will explore the benefits, challenges, and best practices when teaching flexible learning classes.

Participants will gain an understanding of the significance of accommodations in ensuring equal access to higher education for students through the accommodation process.
Building Social Connections to Address Compassion Fatigue Dr. Julie Radlauer-Doerfler, LMHC This interactive and hands-on workshop focuses on using social connections to address compassion fatigue with faculty and staff. Attendees will learn how the social influences of mental health interventions can be used to address burnout and compassion fatigue.

Bullet Journaling® is a methodology best described as a mindfulness practice disguised as a productivity system. It’s designed to help you organize your “What?” while you remain aware of your “Why?”. The goal of the Bullet Journal is to help its practitioners (bullet journalists) live intentional, meaningful, and productive lives.

Bullet Journaling is also a customizable and forgiving organization system. It can be your to-do list, sketchbook, notebook, and diary, but most likely, it will be all of the above.  It will teach you to do more with less! The system can be used for self-care and reflection through collections of habit tracking, health and fitness, reflective journaling, and more.  It starts with just a pen and a notebook.

Mirroring 360 Around the Classroom! Kyla Williams This course demonstrates to faculty how to increase student engagement in the classroom by casting device screens onto a computer and/or projector. Both faculty and students can effortlessly share and record content from their devices or interactive whiteboards while remaining seated. Participants will actively explore the Mirroring 360 technology tool during the session. Please remember to bring your tablets for a hands-on experience, or if you don’t have one, a tablet will be provided for you.
New Frontiers in Extended and Virtual Reality Raz Ben-ezzer This course introduces and showcases Extended Reality (XR) and Virtual Reality (VR) using Meta Quest devices. It highlights their applications in education, student projects, and development within our Immersive Technology BAS specialization.

Brittany Valera Learn negotiation and conflict management skills including saving face, perspective-taking, and how to navigate conflict while preserving relationships. Get to the root of what you want accomplished with an approach that separates people from problems. Through hands-on negotiation scenarios, participants will learn the basis of salary negotiation, a useful skill in professional development. At the end of the session, participants will leave with a salary negotiation worksheet to assist in applying these newly acquired skills.
Personal Self Defense Daniel Hall, Terry McDonald, Korella Holmes, Craig Sanders This course offers hands-on training in self-defense, providing participants with practical skills. Attendees will watch demonstrations and engage in guided practice to learn techniques for confronting or evading an assailant. Gain insights into enhancing personal security awareness, building confidence, and responding effectively to personal threats.
Reaching All: Diverse Learning & Multiple Intelligences Renata Pavanelli Students have varying learning needs and different ways of processing information.
