I’ve been an educator for over 25 years and a proud member of the Broward College family for nearly 19 years. I continue to teach in computer science and serve as the inTech club advisor every semester. I currently serve as the AVP of CTEL, and previously I have served as the district director of faculty development for the past four years. I am passionate about lifelong learning and I’m committed to supporting both students and colleagues on their educational journeys!
Wendy Varela

I’m the Senior Director of Faculty Development at CTEL! I have over 15 years of experience in higher education. I’m passionate about developing and delivering comprehensive programming to support faculty in the areas of teaching and learning. I have a master’s degree in Instructional Design from UCF. When I’m not working, I enjoy reading and spending time with my husband, two dogs and two cats.
Elizaveta Le Breton-Drakunova

I have been working in the higher education Professional Development and Learning Technology fields for over 15 years. My educational background includes a Masterβs degree (MLA) in Humanities and a Bachelorβs degree in Communications from Tulane University (New Orleans). I enjoy teaching both, courses in my discipline and professional development courses for faculty. I am especially interested in exploring new teaching practices and tools to engage the students.

Seasoned Seahawk contributing various multimedia endeavors to our CTEL team. Part of a dedicated team at our AI Institute, exploring the potential of this transformative technology. My extensive background in higher education includes 20 years as an adjunct professor. I hold a Masterβs in Education Technology, and a Bachelorβs in Marketing and Communication from Central Connecticut State University. Honorable Discharge after 10 years of service to the United States Marine Corps (USMC, USMCR), and a Desert Storm Veteran (1990-1991)πΊπΈ
